Danielle Dick, Ph.D
Danielle Dick, Ph.D. is the Director of the Rutgers Addiction Research Center, the largest comprehensive addiction research center in the world, at the Brain Health Institute at Rutgers University. She is a tenured Professor of Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and holds the Greg Brown Endowed Chair in Neuroscience. She is an internationally recognized and award-winning expert on genetic and environmental influences on addiction and related mental health challenges. She has led and contributed to more than 20 grants from the National Institutes of Health, with grant funding totaling >55 million dollars. She has >450 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of child development, addiction, mental health, genetics, and human behavior, and won numerous national and international awards for her work. She has been named one of the most highly cited researchers in the world. She is passionate about ensuring research advances get “out of the lab” and into the community, so all can benefit. Her book The Child Code, published by Penguin Random House, helps parents understand the “why?!” behind their children’s behavior and tailor their parenting to what will work best for each of their unique children.
